It is GPSA election time and the current Executive Board is seeking nominations for the new slate of positions that will take over in 2010.  There will be five positions offered this year described below. 


The process for nomination is simple:  you nominate yourself for a position you are interested in or you can nominate a fellow student for a position.  If that is the case I will contact that person and see if they indeed want to run.


Attached is a self-nomination form that I ask you to fill out and bring to next week's GPSA meeting at 7:15 in AS 123 November 19th.  If you cannot make the meeting please contact me in advance.  The deadline for nomination is November 11th


The elections will be held on THURSDAY NOVEMBER 19th at 7:15pm in AS123.
Please note that this will be your ONLY chance to vote so make sure to attend.  Ballots will be distributed and we will know by the end of the meeting our new e-board!


The positions available are:


President:
The President is responsible for setting the agenda for the GPSA with the collaboration of the other officers of the GPSA, managing the business of the GPSA and delegating duties to other Executive Board officers as needed.


Vice President Academic
The Vice President Academic is responsible for addressing academic issues that confront the MRP student body in collaboration with the Executive Board.  The VP Academic shall attend the Faculty meetings as scheduled by the department.  The VP Academic will also assume the responsibilities of the Presidency if the President is absent or shall resign.


Vice President Student Involvement:
The Vice President Student Involvement is responsible for coordinating activities and events, and addressing other pertinent issues confronting the MRP student experience in collaboration with the Executive Board. 


Vice President Communications:
The Vice President Communications is responsible for sending out communications and advertising in collaboration with the Executive Board.  The VP Communications is also responsible for recording the meeting minutes and providing them to the webmaster for publication on the GPSA website.


Treasurer:
The Treasurer is responsible for managing the funds of the GPSA and for providing updates on the account balance at each GPSA meeting.  The Treasurer shall also coordinate with the GSO on budget and funding requests.
